PLAY CUBE ACTIVITY TRAIL FOR KEY STAGE 2 | WARRINGTON, CHESHIRE
CULCHETH COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL
AMV Playground Solutions were approached by head teacher Mrs Amanda Dodd and invited to provide a solution for the replacement of an existing wooden trim trail that had become unsafe to use. The option to replace rather than repair (and replace with steel) was decided in order to ensure the longevity of the play equipment as well as avoiding further ongoing maintenance costs and the inevitable deterioration again of the timber in future.
The children absolutely love it. They have really been inspired to try a variety of different activities, they are quite creative in the way that they use the equipment. Because it is spread out we have been able to have more children to play safely under the current circumstances. It’s absolutely brilliant equipment!

The Setting
The location in question at the school was adjacent to a large timber adventure play unit and a timber clamber stack. Having multiple options nearby allows for diverse play for all ages at the school from 4-11 as well as offering different sections in order to ensure appropriate guidelines are followed during the pandemic.
The Solution
AMV were chosen from a number of options by the school council who were looking for play equipment with a diverse design and product offering as well as good guarantees.
After a site survey and detailed conversation with the school staff a scaled plan view layout drawing was created along with a 3D render of the proposed solution which received positive feedback and from the school staff and the children.
A multicoloured custom AMV Cube Trail was designed, manufactured and installed at the school. The Cube Trails offer a multitude of activities in a small amount of space, encouraging exercise and problem solving. It’s minimal frame design also allows for high visibility throughout to ensure that the children are able to play safely.
Finally the vibrant powder coated finish will guarantee longevity and safe playtime for years to come.

It offers a varied array of challenging obstacles in a safe environment, inviting pupils to explore and grow in confidence through physical play.
